The Denver Broncos were able to pull out a big win of the season to come out of their toughest stretch of the 2026 season 4-2 with a 17-14 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.
After the Broncos built a 14-3 lead over the Seahawks through the first three quarters, Seattle methodically worked down the field and scored 11 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to tie the game in regulation. The Broncos' offense went ice-cold after building a lead, leaving the defense to dictate the rest of the game.
And the defense delivered. After choosing to defer in the overtime period, cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian came up with a massive interception of Sam Darnold to set up the Broncos' offense inside the Seattle 45. After the offense got
eight yards, it was time to trot out kicker Wil Lutz.
Lutz, who had missed two kicks in the last two weeks, calmly lined up and kicked the ball through the uprights to give the Broncos the win. As soon as the ball went through the uprights, Lutz took off his helmet, and shushed the crowd, and likely, his detractors.

Quarterback Bo Nix ran onto the field, arms outstretched to greet Lutz after the game-winner. Nix, who struggled on Thursday, but did not turn the ball over, did just enough early to help win the game. While he knows he could have done better, a win is a win in the NFL.
