After losing cornerbacks Pat Surtain (ankle) and Riley Moss (ribs) on Sunday, the Denver Broncos are down to three healthy cornerbacks on the active roster.
Denver has Jahdae Barron, Ja'Quan McMillian and Kris Abrams-Draine available as they approach a Week 5 divisional showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers. Barron replaced Surtain on the outside on Sunday and Abrams-Draine replaced Moss on the other side while McMillian continued to play in the slot. That will presumably remain the starting lineup for as long as Surtain and Moss are sidelined.
The Broncos also have two cornerbacks available on the practice squad: undrafted rookie Brent Austin and ex-UFL star Sean Fresch.
Broncos' projected cornerback depth chart
- CB1: Jahdae Barron
- CB2: Kris Abrams-Draine
- Slot: Ja'Quan McMillian
- Practice squad: Brent Austin, Sean Fresch
If one (or both) of Surtain and Moss land on short-term injured reserve,
Denver will likely add at least one more cornerback to the active roster. In addition to their two practice squad options, the Broncos could also explore free-agent options. Denver's first injury report of the week will be released after Wednesday's practice.
