After he pancaked Los Angeles Rams star defensive lineman Aaron Donald in Week 3, Denver Broncos guard Quinn Meinerz received a notice from the NFL that he would be tested for performance-enhancing substances.
It was ironic timing for what the NFL describes as a random drug test, but the league didn't appreciate Meinerz sharing a photo of his notice on his Instagram story. Meinerz was fined about $15,000 for posting it, according to multiple reports.
Meinerz, 27, is a two-time first-team All-Pro and a one-time Pro Bowler. The sixth-year lineman has a 91.9 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus this season, which ranks first among NFL guards. His 86.2 pass-blocking grade ranks fourth among guards ranked by PFF.
Meinerz and wide receiver Jaylen
Waddle were previously fined $14,926 each following their touchdown celebration in Week 3. Both players appealed those fines, but there hasn't been any news yet on a verdict for those appeals.
