Shannon Sharpe built his Hall of Fame career primarily with the Denver Broncos, winning two of his three Super Bowls with the franchise, so it's no surprise he reps the Broncos every chance he gets. So when the Broncos narrowly escaped against the Jacksonville Jaguars this past weekend, it's understandable that Sharpe said his Broncos “had him sweating.”
Sharpe said he was a bit perplexed that the Broncos won: Denver committed ten penalties and had to come from behind to win. But nevertheless, Sharpe is not backing away from his faith in Denver, and says whoever lines up against them can prepare for a “L.”
Although the win wasn't pretty, the Broncos can walk away feeling more positive than they did in Week 1. Quarterback Bo Nix upgraded his completion
percentage from sub-61 percent to a 71 percent completion clip. And Jaylen Waddle went from one catch and two yards in Week 1 to eight catches and 138 yards. So plenty of momentum to make Sharpe feel more confident. Check out Sharpe and more commentary on his “Nightcap” podcast below.
