What is the story about?

The Denver Broncos' preseason win over the Atlanta Falcons proved to be a costly one for linebacker Levelle Bailey.

Bailey went to the medical tent deep in the second quarter after coming off the field hopping on one leg, before being evaluated and carted off the field, according to 850 KOA's (the Broncos' radio affiliate) Suzie Wargin. Bailey unfortunately suffered a broken leg, which will likely end his season before it truly begins, per Mike Klis.

Bailey is a third-year player who has bounced on and off the Broncos' roster and practice squad as a special teams player. Last summer, Bailey was praised by coach Sean Payton for his improvement from Year 1 to Year 2.

Bailey faced an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster in a crowded linebacker

room with Red Miller, Taurean York, Alex Singleton, Juston Strnad, Jonah Elliss and Drew Sanders all on the 91-man roster. Broncos Wire labelled Bailey as a top practice squad candidate in 2026 if he did not make the roster.
