After setting their initial 53-man roster, the Denver Broncos have the fifth-oldest squad in the NFL, according to data from Spotrac.com.
Denver's average player age is 27.2 years old, which is second-oldest in the conference and fifth-oldest in the league. Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Los Angeles Chargers (26.8) have the 12th-oldest roster, followed by the Las Vegas Raiders (26.4) with the 10th-youngest and the Kansas City Chiefs (26.1) with the fourth-oldest.
The Broncos' oldest players are left tackle Garett Bolles (34), linebacker Alex Singleton (32), kicker Wil Lutz (32) and right tackle Mike McGlinchey (31). They also have five other over-30 players.
There's no reason for alarm, though, because the Broncos' "old" roster shouldn't be a hindrance
to a potential Super Bowl run. The Los Angeles Rams are considered Super Bowl favorites this year, and they have the second-oldest (27.3) roster in the league.
Eleven years ago, Denver won Super Bowl 50 with the fifth-oldest (26.8) roster in the NFL. So it can be done.
