The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams are set to square off in one of the biggest games of the 2026 NFL season so far, and the loser will be sitting at 1-2.
The Rams looked much more like the team many expected in their 28-6 win over the New York Giants last Monday night. However, that Giants team did not have its starting quarterback, and between several terrible throws by Jameis Winston and some turnovers, the Giants gave themselves no chance to win. The Rams were a beatable team in that game, and the Broncos could send a huge message to the rest of the league with a big win on Sunday night.
It will likely be a dogfight that goes down to the wire. Here are some bold predictions for fans inside Broncos Country to take in ahead of the showdown.
Bold predictions for Broncos vs. Rams in Week 3
1. J.K. Dobbins will rush for 100 yards
Believe it or not, J.K. Dobbins has only rushed for 100 yards eight times in his entire NFL career. He did it twice with the Broncos last season, and Sunday against the Rams will be the third time.
The Broncos need to control the clock in this game. Jonah Coleman will be out, but Dobbins and RJ Harvey will be available. Controlling time of possession will allow the Broncos to dictate their pace to the Rams and completely throw off their game plan. In addition, a balanced attack will help Davis Webb call a better game and Bo Nix and the offense stay on schedule.
Dobbins will be a key factor in this game. The San Francisco 49ers rushed for 174 yards against this Rams defense in Week 1. That defense did not have Aaron Donald, who will be out there for the Rams on Sunday, but the Broncos will still open up holes in the running game and both Dobbins and Harvey will find success.
2. Courtland Sutton makes at least 6 receptions
In addition to finding success in the running game, the Broncos need to get Courtland Sutton going. They got things right with Jaylen Waddle last week and this week will be Sutton's turn.
Sutton has only five receptions for 36 yards through the first two weeks of the season. Nix will look his way often in this one and he'll make at least six grabs.
3. Ja'Quan McMillian forces game-changing turnover
Last week it was Riley Moss who authored the game-changing play against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This week, with Pat Surtain II likely shadowing Davante Adams all night, it will be Ja'Quan McMillian who comes up with the game's biggest defensive play, shifting all of the momentum to the home team.
4. Broncos get important win
Everybody is back on the Rams after their easy win over the Jaxson Dart-less Giants, but the Broncos are going to knock them back down to Earth on Sunday night. It won't come easily, but the Broncos will make enough plays to get a victory that could launch them into a big run for the rest of the season.
