As the Denver Broncos prepare for life without Pat Bryant (ankle) for a few weeks, the club currently has four healthy wide receivers on the active roster: Jaylen Waddle, Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims.
Waddle and Sutton will continue to lead the way, and Franklin and Mims could be more involved with Bryant sidelined. Denver might also consider elevating or promoting a receiver from the practice squad.
The Broncos have four receivers to choose from on the practice squad, including Lil'Jordan Humphrey, who was just bumped down from the active roster last week. Also available are Michael Bandy, Kolbe Katsis and Dane Key.
Brandy has been a reliable punt returner when called upon and Katsis did a nice job returning kicks when he was
elevated to the game-day roster earlier this week. Key is an unproven rookie who is yet to make his NFL debut. So if the Broncos are going to call up a practice squad receiver, Humphrey seems like the best guess.
Broncos 17-player practice squad
- RB Cody Schrader
- TE Lucas Krull
- WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey
- WR Michael Bandy
- WR Kolbe Katsis
- WR Dane Key
- OL Calvin Throckmorton
- OT Tyler Miller
- OL Gavin Ortega
- OLB Johnny Walker
- OLB Jahfari Harvey
- OLB David Agoha [international]
- LB Red Murdock
- CB Brent Austin
- CB Sean Fresch
- S Taylor Rapp
- S Miles Scott
It wouldn't be surprising to see Denver wait until later in the week to make roster decisions so the Los Angeles Chargers have to prepare for multiple possibilities leading up to Sunday's game.
