The Denver Broncos are going to have to listen to criticism for awhile. Or, at least until Sunday, when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
As bad as the Broncos were against the Chiefs, the critique is only going to be negative. Former Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe has chimed in and the first word he used to describe the performance was "embarrassing."
Sharpe even went as far as to say he didn't know who was worse in Week 1, the Broncos or the Cleveland Browns, as he appeared on his podcast, Nightcap, along with his co-hosts Chad Johnson and former NBA player Joe Johnson.
“This was embarrassing," Sharpe said on Nightcap. "This might have been Bo Nix’s worst game. He couldn’t hold on to the ball. He (was) getting pressure. He fumbled the ball on the sideline.
“You’d think he’d have better ball security in the pocket. Nah, let me hold it like a loaf of bread. I fumbled it one time. I got it back because the guys touched the ball out of bounds, so they got to bring it back to where he touched the ball. But I ain’t learned my lesson. Let me do it again. This was awful.”

Shannon Sharpe highly critical of former team
Sharpe likely doesn't take great pleasure in having to come down on the Broncos, as he is the best tight end and one of the best overall players in team history. However, now being one of the most recognized names in sports media, he has to call it as he sees it.
Embarrassing is the same word coach Sean Payton or any of the players on the team would use to describe their performance on Monday night. It was terribly concerning, particularly when you consider what lies ahead.
Hopefully, that was a one-time thing for the Broncos, as aspirations were as high as ever coming into the season.
