Another big trade has once again rocked the NFL, and the Denver Broncos weren't a part of it.
The Indianapolis Colts
have agreed to trade star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round selection, perhaps signaling a potential fire sale from Indy. While the Colts wanted to trade Nelson, who is on an expiring contract after the 2026 season, many wanted Denver to try and deal for the eight-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro.With the asking price so low, it would have been a good idea for the Broncos to at least make an offer for Nelson, who is similar in his approach and his game to lineman Quinn Meinerz.
Broncos fans and pundits expressed their disappointment at the deal on Twitter/X.
Check out their reactions below.

The dream of a Meinerz/Nelson guard combo was almost too good to be true and the fact that it only cost a 3rd and a future 5th feels like a missed opportunity https://t.co/buX2a0ZpQg

Big move for the defending Super Bowl champs whose interior offensive line was dominated by the Broncos in that Thursday night matchup two weeks ago.

I had a feeling that if the Broncos were going to trade for a Colts player, it was always going to be JT over Quenton Nelson

Looks like we'll be drafting a guard in the 1st round next year https://t.co/dsn9kgK05v
With Nelson now off the market, and the Colts potentially revealing themselves as sellers at the Nov. 10 trade deadline, this could open the door to bringing in running back Jonathan Taylor, who has been linked to the Broncos. Then again, as the Broncos have done for several years under general manager George Paton's leadership, Denver could choose the route of standing pat at the deadline.
Could Taylor and the Broncos be a match made in heaven? Or just a prelude to more trade-ticker watching for Denver fans? We'll find out within the next two weeks.
