The Denver Broncos' remarkable success rate of undrafted free agents hit a snag on Sunday, as no such players made the initial 53-man roster. It is only the second such instance no undrafted players made the roster in 23 years.
Several players were strong candidates to make the roster, such as dynamic returner Kolbe Katsis, linebacker Taurean York and offensive lineman Gaven Ortega. All three will be likely candidates for the Broncos' 17-man practice squad in 2026, should they clear waivers, per 9News reporter Mike Klis.

The Broncos' storied history of undrafted free agents includes Ring of Fame wide receiver Rod Smith, Super Bowl-winning cornerback Chris Harris and linebacker Wesley Woodyard, among several others. Things may change when the practice squad is assembled and finalized on Monday, with several UDFAs expected to land there.
Denver is hoping to retain some of their talent from one of the deepest rosters in recent memory. We will see how things shake out in the coming days leading up to the season opener at Kansas City on Sept. 14.
