After making option bonus decisions on wide receiver Courtland Sutton, cornerback Pat Surtain, defensive lineman Zach Allen and left tackle Garett Bolles, the Denver Broncos now have about $6.5 million in remaining salary cap space for the 2026 NFL season, according to OverTheCap.com. That ranks 25th in the NFL.
Sutton was the only player in that group who had his option rescinded. That essentially means the Broncos are taking on a larger salary cap hit for Sutton this season and creating smaller cap hits for future seasons. It also means it wouldn't be difficult for Denver to get out of the receiver's contract as early as next offseason (if they want to).
With $6.5 million available, the Broncos have enough cap space for in-season moves and the possibility
of players landing on injured reserve and still counting against the cap this fall. Any unused cap space Denver does not use up this season will roll over and increase the team's 2027 cap total.
