The Denver Broncos' offense has struggled through the first four weeks of the season, and at least some of the blame has been cast on new offensive coordinator/play-caller Davis Webb.
If former Broncos wide receiver and current 104.3 The Fan
pundit Brandon Stokley is to be believed, Broncos head coach Sean Payton could take back play-calling duties ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers."I’m hearing that Sean Payton is going to be taking over play calling this week," Stokley tweeted on Wednesday evening. "Should be an interesting week."
For what it's worth, KOA Radio's Benjamin Allbright tweeted that a team source told him they "hadn’t heard it and it didn’t look that way in practice" when asked about Stokley's report.
We could
get official word tomorrow because Denver's coordinators (including Webb) typically speak on Thursdays, and Webb is currently scheduled to speak with reporters after Thursday's practice.
