The Denver Broncos are calling up two reinforcements from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Carolina Panthers.
Denver elevated safety Taylor Rapp and running back Cody Schrader from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Week 9, the team announced. Both players will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.
Schrader will provide more depth at running back with RJ Harvey (knee) and Tyler Badie (thumb) both on injured reserve. Rapp, who was cut from the active roster on Friday and re-signed to the practice squad on Saturday, gives the team more depth at safety with Brandon Jones (hamstring) ruled out this week.
NFL clubs can elevate up to two players from the practice squad to the game-day roster each week, and those
players do not have to clear waivers to return to the practice squad after the game. However, there is a limit of three elevations per player each season. This week marks Schrader's second elevation of the season and Rapp's third and final elevation.
