Denver Broncos defensive lineman Zach Allen hit a few milestones in a 23-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. After a first-team All-Pro campaign in 2025, Allen has again been on a tear as one of the most visible leaders of the Denver defense.
Allen played in his 100th career game on Sunday, in just his eighth season in the NFL. Allen also recorded a sack against Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert, forcing a fumble that led to a Broncos field goal, which served as the go-ahead score in the victory.
Allen has been a force in the middle of the defense, already recording four sacks in the early season, nearly one per game. Allen is now Denver's fourth defender since 2000 to reach at least four sacks in four consecutive seasons, alongside
Von Miller (10 seasons), Elvis Dumervil (six seasons) and Trevor Pryce (four seasons).
Allen's four sacks are also tied for first in the NFL among interior defensive linemen this season.

Allen's four sacks in 2026 are tied for 1st among NFL IDL.
Allen's leadership in the middle has been much-needed, especially with Jonathon Cooper on the NFL's commissioner’s exempt and John Franklin-Myers no longer with the club.
Allen and the Broncos will look to continue their stingy ways against the Seattle Seahawks on a short week. It will be a tall task, however, as Denver is already short-handed with injuries all across the secondary. If they can find a way to stop 2025 Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Sam Darnold, they'll have a shot at winning in Week 6.
