Sunday Night Football in Week 3 generated a football classic, as the Denver Broncos stormed back from a 16-0 halftime deficit to secure a 30-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
As the Broncos' comeback went underway, things started to go south for the Rams, who had control throughout the entire first half. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles offense didn't score at all in the third quarter, while Stafford threw a back-breaking pick-six to Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga in the fourth quarter. Stafford led the Rams back, and had a chance to win it on the game's final play, but he threw a second interception to Hufanga, sealing the game in Denver's favor.
As he walked back to the visitors' locker room after the loss, Stafford spit
in the tunnel inside the bowels of Empower Field at Mile High.
“It’s a tough one," Stafford said in his postgame press conference. "They (the Denver defense) forced the ball out, brought more than we had to block, tried to pull one up, and it’s kind of glorified Hail Mary from whatever 30-, 35-yard line at that point… With some of the stuff that we’re doing, throwing the football-wise, obviously I got to be better, and I will be. … [We] just got to clean some of that stuff up and that’s stuff we will do.”

There's every reason to believe Stafford and the Rams will bounce back from the loss, as one of the top Super Bowl contenders currently in the NFC. However, if the Broncos and Rams do meet again down the road, this clip may just become bulletin board material for fans alike.
