The Denver Broncos pulled off yet another comeback win on Sunday, but it came at a cost.
Broncos safety Brandon Jones, who injured his hamstring last Thursday and was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report, started Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs and totaled three tackles in the first half before aggravating his injury. Jones was ruled out at halftime, leaving Taylor Rapp, Devon Key and JL Skinner to handle safety duties with Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) already sidelined.
It was always a risk to have Jones play in Sunday's game after he tweaked his hamstring in practice this week. Now, the injury could be worse, and it's not uncommon for hamstring injuries to sideline players for multiple weeks. There's been no word yet on the severity
of Jones' aggravated injury, but it wouldn't be shocking if he misses Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers given the nature of hamstring injuries. After that, Denver has a bye in Week 10.
Elsewhere on the injury front, wide receiver Courtland Sutton was shaken up in the second quarter after an 18-yard catch and went into the team's blue medical tent, but he later returned to the game. Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine also suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter but returned in the second half.
