When the Denver Broncos face off against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 6 of the NFL season, it won't just be about the football being played on the field. It will also be perhaps the best uniform matchup of the season. Both Denver and Seattle will be wearing their amazing throwback uniforms during the game.
Seattle wore their throwbacks in 2024 against the Broncos, when quarterback Bo Nix made his first start in the NFL. Thursday's upcoming game has been touted by many media pundits and uniform aficionados as the "best uniform matchup ever."
Since they reintroduced their 1977-inspired uniforms when the team overhauled their uniform closet in 2024, the Broncos are undefeated (5-0) in their throwback uniform.

The game also holds intrigue in and of itself. Both teams come into Week 6 with identical 3-2 records. Seattle is coming off a 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, while Denver is coming off an ugly 23-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Off the field, there has been beef between the two coaches. A few weeks ago, the rivalry became a source of contention when Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald revealed that Seattle used social media clips of Broncos practices to obtain several Denver offensive plays ahead of their 2024 matchup. Broncos coach Sean Payton accused Macdonald of cheating, threatening to report Seattle to the NFL offices, but after Macdonald apologized for the comments becoming public, Payton indicated the discourse is water under the bridge.
This game also represents a sort of "what could have been," as the Broncos came up just short of a Super Bowl appearance, finishing as the AFC runner-up in 2025. The team they would have faced? Seattle. This has the potential to be a great game, or a slugfest with both defenses playing well at this point in the season.
The game will be played on Thursday night at Empower Field at Mile High in what figures to be a playoff-like atmosphere. Fans can stream the game on Prime at 6:15 p.m. MT.
