The Denver Broncos could be missing three starting defensive backs when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) and cornerback Pat Surtain (ankle) were listed as estimated non-participants on Monday's injury report while cornerback Riley Moss (ribs) was listed as an estimated limited participant. It's a step in the right direction that Moss was (estimated) limited, but that doesn't guarantee he'll be ready for Thursday's game.
Jahdae Barron and Kris Abrams-Draine played well filling in for Surtain and Moss against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but L.A. was missing all of their top receivers due to injury. This week, Denver's defense will face a much tougher challenge in Seattle
star Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
At safety, Devon Key played 26 defensive snaps on Sunday, stepping up after Hufanga left in the third quarter. If Hufanga is ruled out this week, Key will likely start across from Brandon Jones against the Seahawks.
The Broncos are scheduled to practice on Tuesday, and they will release their final injury report with game statuses on Wednesday. Surtain and Hufanga seem to be long shots for Thursday's game while Moss has an uncertain status.
