The final scoring drive of the Denver Broncos' 30-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams came down to one crucial call: a defensive pass interference penalty called on Rams defensive back Josh Wallace.
While opinions on social media were split about whether the call was valid or not, pundit Mike Florio and former NFL quarterback Chris Simms believed the call was definitely pass interference.
"(The pass interference call on Wallace) was déjà vu all over again," Florio said on PFT Live earlier this week. "Sean Payton, Sean McVay, my understanding is it's the first time it's been the two of them against each other and the same referee, Bill Vinovich in charge since (the 2018 NFC Championship game), and they call (pass interference) this time. analyst) Terry McAulay disagreed with it; I don't know if I agree with Terry McAulay on it. I think it looked like pass interference to me... I've been watching football for 50 years. I know it when I see it."
Simms agreed with Florio.
"One hundred percent (it's pass interference)," Simms said. "I would agree with you there. He ran through him, pushed him out. I know it doesn't seem like it in slow motion; it don't look that bad, but right there, he's just running through him. Bryant's trying to stop."

While the play may create some controversy among fans and former players across the NFL, the Broncos got the last word in on a huge primetime game against one of the best opponents in the league.
