When it comes to great cornerbacks, Hall of Famer and former Denver Broncos shutdown corner Champ Bailey is a great talent, and has a great eye for talent. Which is why when Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams put another cornerback ahead of the Broncos' Pat Surtain, Bailey took notice.
In an appearance on FanDuel TV’s Up and Adams Show, Adams revealed that he believes teammate Trent McDuffie is the best cornerback in the NFL.
"I'll say Trent McDuffie," Adams said. "He's my favorite corner in the league after getting here and seeing him work. I think he's the best corner in the league."

Bailey took exception to Adams' comments.
"love Trent to death but you will play the best corner in the league
on Sunday in (Pat Surtain)," Bailey commented on Wednesday. Can't wait to see it live."

Surtain has been disrespected by not being called the best corner in the NFL already this year. Surtain was ranked as the second-best corner in Madden NFL 27 this summer.
Bailey has always spoken highly of Surtain, who won the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2024. Surtain and Adams will almost certainly be matched up against each other on Sunday. They have had some memorable matchups where each of them has gotten the better of the other. With Surtain near the top of his game, and Adams closer to the end of his career than the beginning, this will surely be a matchup to watch on Sunday Night Football.
Will Matthew Stafford try to challenge Surtain? Time will tell.
