After losing RJ Harvey (knee) to injured reserve for at least three more games, the Denver Broncos need to add more depth to their backfield.
The Broncos will consider the NFL trade block ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline, and the club could also explore free agent options. Here's a quick list of five free agents Denver could look to add this week.
5 free agent running backs for Broncos
1. Antonio Gibson (28): The former third-round draft pick tore his ACL in Week 5 last season, and his health would be a big factor when considering signing Gibson. He has averaged a respectable 4.2 yards per carry in his career while adding 197 receptions for 1,495 yards and seven touchdowns as a receiver out of the backfield in 83 career games.
2. Najee Harris (28): After being cut by the Giants, Harris will
seek his fourth team in a three-year span. He tore his Achilles tendon three games into the 2025 campaign but was healthy for five games in New York this fall before getting cut. Harris started his NFL career with four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons before his Achilles injury.
3. Miles Sanders (29): He's coming back from a season-ending knee injury that limited him to four games in 2025. Before that injury, Sanders was averaging 5.9 yards per carry in Dallas.
4. Cam Akers (27): The two-time Super Bowl champion is four years removed from his career year in 2022, but Akers is a veteran runner and capable receiver out of the backfield.
5. Raheem Mostert (34): He led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns in 2023, but his production has slipped significantly since then. Mostert rushed 22 times for 104 yards and totaled 12 receptions for 70 yards in 12 games with the Las Vegas Raiders last fall.
