With the NFL's trade deadline just one week away, the Denver Broncos have been linked to Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor. Hard Rock Bet currently has the Broncos (+250) listed with the second-best odds to land Taylor, only trailing the Seattle Seahawks (+225).
During an appearance on Altitude Sports 92.5 FM on Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter suggested the Broncos might be content to roll with rookie Jonah Coleman instead of paying Taylor's expensive price (perhaps as much as a second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-round pick).
Meanwhile, NFL insider Jordan Schultz has listed Denver among six teams who have been "aggressively" pursuing Taylor, but Schefter did not characterize it that way. Multiple outlets have reported that Denver has "checked
in" on Taylor, but KOA Radio's Benjamin Allbright has reported the Broncos have not made a formal offer for the running back.
If Denver wants a running back but is unwilling to pay up for Taylor, New York Jets running back Breece Hall could be a potential fallback option. Schefter has floated Hall as a name to watch for the teams who don't land Taylor.
The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10. We will track all of the latest news and rumors on Broncos Wire.
