It's not a state secret: Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix did not play well on Monday night. Nix went 17-of-28 for 131 yards, one touchdown, one interception and three fumbles (one lost).
Quarterback guru Tim Jenkins took the opportunity to break down Nix's tape from the 31-10 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.
"Unfortunately, we've got the red marker out, because it wasn't great," Jenkins said. "It really was not pretty."
The opening play of the game went for a sack. "You know, there's a piece of me that I thought, 'All right, well, let's just get the ball out right here, right now,'" Jenkins said. "I don't think if he flips this out to [Jaylen] Waddle, I don't think it's a positive play. That's just a tough one. The tough opening snap."

then broke down the interception. "Honestly, not a lot of places to go when you look at it and that's what makes some of these tough," Jenkins said. "You know, you watch the TV copy and you can only see so much, right? That's why we do this, right? This is so, hey, we can take a look at what's actually going on out there."
Jenkins then went to the second drive of the game, in which Nix excelled. "Bo Nix's playing efficient and on time," Jenkins noted. "Unfortunately, we got very few clips of this, which is part of why we're sitting here trying to get better."

At the end of the video, Jenkins gave his final word.
"I know this isn't fun," Jenkins said. "I know nobody's like in the mood to laugh right now because the Broncos got their butts kicked... Do I think we put it all on Bo Nix? No, I do not. Like, I don't think he played great, but I don't think this was like a catastrophic, like multiple progression issues, yada yada yada. I think this was one of those funky games where we had one quality drive that did look great and then everything else you sat there and you kind of went, 'What are we trying to accomplish?' And then you have penalties that back you up. I just thought it was overall just I don't think it was called well. I don't think it was executed well from the quarterback perspective and I don't think it was executed well from the rest of the players."
Nix will look to have a strong bounce-back performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2.
