When the Denver Broncos host the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football this week, fans at Empower Field at Mile High might recognize a trio of familiar faces on Seattle's sideline.
The Seahawks have three ex-Broncos players on their squad, all three on offense: quarterback Drew Lock, running back Emanuel Wilson and tight end Eric Saubert.
Lock, 29, was originally picked by Denver in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Missouri. He went 8-13 as a starter with the Broncos before ultimately being traded to the Seahawks as part of the Russell Wilson trade in 2022. Lock helped Seattle win two games earlier this season, filling in for an injured Sam Darnold.
Wilson, 27, signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley
State in 2023, but Denver waived him just three days later, opting to carry Jaleel McLaughlin instead. Wilson has been filling in for Jadarian Price (injured reserve) and Zach Charbonnet (PUP list) over the last two weeks. Wilson has topped 20 carries three times this fall, totaling 234 rushing yards and three touchdowns in those contests. He has also fumbled twice.
Saubert, 32, played in Denver from 2021-2022. Used primarily as a blocking tight end, Saubert has spent time with 11 NFL teams, winning Super Bowl LX with Seattle last season.
