Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday, opening his 21-day window to return from injured reserve. If the Broncos do not activate Bryant to the 53-man roster within the next three weeks, he will remain on IR for the rest of the season.
Bryant injured his ankle in Week 4 and sat out the team's last four games. Before that, he hauled in nine receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. Once cleared to play again, Bryant will likely resume WR3 duties behind Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton in the second half of the season.
NFL teams are allowed to designate up to eight players to return from injured reserve each season. Denver has already used three of those designations on offensive lineman Frank Crum (leg),
tight end Caleb Lohner (foot) and running back Jonah Coleman, who returned in Week 7. Crum and Lohner have not yet returned to practice.
