Denver Broncos primary owners Greg and Carrie Penner continue to expand their sports portfolio.
Last week, Pitchwise Holdings purchased 42% of Valencia Club de Fútbol, S. A. D. (that's Valencia CF for short, or simply Valencia). One of the investors in Pitchwise Holdings is Penner Sports Group, operated by Greg and Carrie Penner.
To be clear, this is not the Broncos investing in the Spanish soccer club, but rather their primary owners. Penner Sports Group previously acquired 40% of the Colorado Rockies earlier this year, and more sports investments could follow.
Valencia is one of the most accomplished soccer teams in Spain, with six La Liga championships, eight Copa del Rey titles and a UEFA Cup among their trophies. This season, however, the club
has struggled. Valencia currently sits second from the bottom in La Liga after ten matches. If they do not finish at least two spots higher by the end of the season, Valencia will be relegated to the second division in Spain.
