The Denver Broncos had a terrible tackling game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday. It was really bad; the team missed 28 tackles against the Chiefs, with many of those opportunities leading to huge chunk plays, including at least two touchdowns directly because of missed tackles.
Despite leading the Broncos in tackles in Week 1, linebacker Alex Singleton also led the Broncos with five missed tackles. Fellow linebacker Justin Strnad came in just behind with four missed tackles. This is especially concerning when one considers the fact that Denver gave guaranteed money to the pair of linebackers this offseason instead of going out and finding a player outside the organization during free agency.

In spite of the concerning statistic, Singleton isn't concerned about the issue in the future.
"We're gonna be fine," Singleton said in a postgame interview (courtesy of DNVR's Zac Stevens). "We're gonna work on it this week, do what we need to do, and we're gonna be fine."

Singleton's confidence is a great thing, but the stark facts are laying the argument bare. The Broncos came off their worst tackling performance since they lost 70-20 against the Miami Dolphins in 2023. After that performance, Vance Joseph's defense took leaps and bounds forward toward becoming the forceful unit they were in 2025.
Let's hope this game can serve as a reminder for the Broncos defense to once again come back to their dominant ways.
