What is the story about?

It didn't take long for former Denver Broncos running back Jaleel McLaughlin to find a new NFL home.

The Cleveland Browns are signing McLaughlin to their practice squad, according to a report from Tony Grossi of TheLandOnDemand.com. He will reunite with former Denver fullback Michael Burton in Cleveland two days after being waived by the Broncos.

Denver originally signed McLaughlin (5-7, 187 pounds) as an undrafted free agent in 2023 following his record-breaking college career at Notre Dame College (Division II) and Youngstown State (FCS).

McLaughlin totaled 1,142 yards from scrimmage and scored six touchdowns through his first two seasons with the Broncos before being demoted to RB4 behind Tyler Badie in 2025. Denver picked Badie over McLaughlin again

this summer, but general manager George Paton said it was a "really tough" decision and one of the team's final cuts.

The Broncos are now set to go into the regular season with J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey, Jonah Coleman and Badie on the active roster. McLaughlin will get a fresh start with the Browns as an option behind Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson.
