The Denver Broncos will not place cornerbacks Pat Surtain (ankle) or cornerback Riley Moss (ribs) on injured reserve this weekend. If they were going to do so, that decision would have been made on Saturday, and neither player appeared on the NFL's transaction wire over the weekend.
The team previously placed wide receiver Pat Bryant (ankle) on injured reserve on Friday, ruling him out for at least the next four games.
Bryant will miss upcoming games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs before becoming eligible to return against the Carolina Panthers in Week 9.
By not placing Surtain or Moss on IR, the Broncos are signaling that they believe they could return to action within three or fewer
games. That said, Denver has a short week before hosting the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football in Week 6, so at least Surtain seems unlikely to return before Week 7 due to his ankle injury.
Time will tell how long Surtain and Moss end up being sidelined, but the fact that they're not landing on IR is a positive sign.
