The Denver Broncos are moving on from a former third-round draft pick.

The Broncos have waived 25-year-old outside linebacker Drew Sanders with an injury designation, according to the Denver Post's Parker Gabriel. This could mark the end of the talented but oft-injured defender's time in Denver.

Sanders (6-5, 233 pounds) will now be subject to the NFL's waiver wire, and while he has battled injuries throughout his career, Sanders probably has enough potential to draw interest from other clubs.

Sanders was originally picked by the Broncos in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft out of Arkansas. After appearing in all 17 games as a rookie, Sanders missed all but four games in 2024 after returning from a torn Achilles tendon. After that, he missed the entire

2025 season while recovering from a foot injury. This summer, Sanders has been sidelined for much of training camp and preseason with an undisclosed injury.

Denver has now waived him, and a fresh start might be what's best for the outside linebacker. Sanders totaled 32 tackles and one sack in 21 appearances with the Broncos, including four starts in his rookie season.
