Bo Nix’s favorite NFL player and childhood hero, Tim Tebow, was in Denver for the Broncos’ home opener against the Jaguars on Sunday.
When asked about Tebow being at Sunday’s game, Nix had nothing but praise for the former NFL quarterback.
"It was awesome, and we've formed a great relationship over time," Nix said after a 20-13 win over Jacksonville. "As I've gotten older and as I've gotten a little bit more on in the football world, we've just been able to connect a little bit more and he understands what I go through on a daily basis. It's always really unique and interesting to see what he's doing as well because he does a lot for our community. He does a lot for really our country with what he's doing, what he's pouring into.”But understanding
of the game and giving back to the community is just a portion of what Bo admires about Tebow. He continued, “We're thankful for guys like him, role models that we can look up to as younger guys and just people that do things right and they love people.”Beyond their shared experience as Broncos quarterbacks, Nix and Tebow also share an outspoken faith. As Nix put it, “Obviously, he serves a bigger platform, and he gives all the glory to the Lord, and he loves Jesus, and he wants everybody to know it. Bo concluded his response to Tim’s Denver visit by stating, “It's really cool how the Lord works. He was drafted here [a] long time ago and then I'm here and then we get to do our jersey swap and now I got a signed Tim Tebow jersey forever and my 12-year-old self is just going crazy right now.”
Their mutual admiration was clearly evident on Sunday as Nix and Tebow spoke on the sideline prior to the game:

Notably, Bo’s comeback win against the Jaguars was not unlike many of Tebow’s 2011 performances, and gives Denver a 1-1 start to the season. And while both quarterbacks share playoff wins as a Broncos QB, fans are hopeful that their current, young quarterback will take the team all the way to the Super Bowl this year.
