The Denver Broncos have released their updated depth chart ahead of a Week 4 showdown with the San Francisco 49ers.
Last week, Denver promoted long snapper Mitchell Fraboni from the practice squad to the active roster after placing running back Jonah Coleman (ankle) on injured reserve. There could be more moves on the way later this week, but as of Wednesday, the active roster is unchanged since Sunday's game.
Note that despite coming straight from the team, the club calls this an "unofficial" depth chart. However, it should still provide a rough idea of how players stack up, though perhaps with a few caveats.
Here's a look at the official "unofficial" depth chart from the Broncos ahead of the 49ers game on Sunday.
Broncos depth chart

Quarterback (3)
- QB1: Bo Nix
- QB2: Jarrett Stidham
- QB3: Sam Ehlinger
Jarrett Stidham remains the primary
backup quarterback, a role he has held since Sean Payton arrived in 2023. Sam Ehlinger has remained loyal to the team as QB3 despite drawing interest from other clubs.
Running back (3)
- RB1: J.K. Dobbins
- RB2: RJ Harvey
- RB3: Tyler Badie
Jonah Coleman will spend at least three more games on injured reserve. In the meantime, Tyler Badie will handle RB3 duties. Denver also has Cody Schrader available on the practice squad.
Wide receiver (6)
- WR: Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin
- WR: Jaylen Waddle, Lil'Jordan Humphrey
- WR: Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant
Marvin Mims has missed the team's last two games with a foot injury. The Broncos' leaders in targets through the first three weeks are Jaylen Waddle (20), Courtland Sutton (16), RJ Harvey (11), Pat Bryant (9), Evan Engram (8), Nate Adkins (5) and Troy Franklin (4).
Tight end/fullback (4)
- TE1: Evan Engram
- TE2: Adam Trautman
- TE3: Nate Adkins
- TE4: Dallen Bentley
- FB: [Adam Prentice practice squad elevation]
Fullback Adam Prentice maxed out his three practice squad elevations last week. We'll see if he's fully promoted to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game.
Offensive line (9)
- LT: Garett Bolles, Matt Peart
- LG: Ben Powers, Kage Casey
- C: Luke Wattenberg, Alex Forsyth
- RG: Quinn Meinerz, Kage Casey
- RT: Mike McGlinchey, Alex Palczewski
Kage Casey is listed as the backup guard for both spots, but Alex Palczewski filled in when left guard Ben Powers was injured last season. Palczewski is probably the top backup for both guard spots and right tackle.
Defensive line (7)
- DE: Zach Allen, Jordan Jackson, Tyler Onyedim
- NT: D.J. Jones, Sai'vion Jones
- DE: Malcolm Roach, Eyioma Uwazurike
Malcolm Roach (119 snaps) is listed as a starter, but Eyioma Uwazurike (103 snaps) has been featured in a nearly even rotation across from Zach Allen.
Outside linebacker (4)
- OLB: Nik Bonitto, Que Robinson
- OLB: Jonah Elliss, Dondrea Tillman
Jonathon Cooper (felony assault case) is currently on the commissioner's exempt list. Cooper can't practice or play in games until the NFL makes an updated ruling on his roster status. Cooper has a trial by jury scheduled for mid-November.
Inside linebacker (4)
- LB: Alex Singleton, Jordan Turner
- LB: Justin Strnad, Karene Reid
Denver also has seventh-round draft pick Red Murdock providing additional depth on the practice squad.
Cornerback (5)
- CB1: Pat Surtain, Jahdae Barron
- CB2: Riley Moss, Kris Abrams-Draine
- Nickel: Ja’Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron
From one to five, this is arguably the best cornerback room in the NFL. The Broncos have great depth at the position, so much so that Jahdae Barron, a first-round pick in 2025, is merely a rotational player.
Safety (5)
- S: Talanoa Hufunga, JL Skinner, Tycen Anderson
- S: Brandon Jones, Devon Key
Seventh-round draft pick Miles Scott is also available on the practice squad, and Denver added veteran Taylor Rapp to the practice squad ahead of Week 1.
Special teams
- K: Wil Lutz
- P: Jeremy Crawshaw
- LS: Mitchell Fraboni
- KR: Marvin Mims, Tyler Badie, RJ Harvey
- PR: Marvin Mims, Riley Moss
Tyler Badie, Kris Abrams-Draine and practice squad wide receiver Kolbe Katsis helped handle return duties while Marvin Mims was sidelined. Riley Moss is listed as a backup option, but as a starting cornerback, he's unlikely to actually return any kicks.
