The Denver Broncos, somehow, some way, are now 4-2 past their toughest stretch of the season where they played several of the top teams in the NFL, including the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, pulling out a 17-14 overtime win, their third one-score win of the year.
This time, Denver didn't have to come back from some crazy margin; they had to protect a lead. The Broncos' offense did everything they could to lose the game, but the defense never gave up. The Denver defense survived several sustained Seattle drives in the second half, despite giving up 11 second-half points, and generated three turnovers on the night, including a game-sealing interception by Ja'Quan McMillian in overtime (sound familiar?) to help
win the game and propel Denver to lone possession of second place in the AFC West.
Here's a sampling of how fans and pundits reacted to the win on Twitter/X.

If ever there was a week when the offense should give its paychecks to the defense, it’s this one.

Denver won four days ago with four of five scoring drives starting in LA territory. It won tonight with one first down and 43 yards on its last 10 possessions.
The #broncos win a Thursday Night Football slugfest on a Wil Lutz 53-yard game winner.

Denver moves to 4-2 after its defense willed it to a victory. But man, that was ugly. Take 'em how you can get 'em in the NFL, though.
The Broncos just won a game in which Bo Nix completed 17-of-27 passes for 107 yards. In which the offense picked up two first downs across its final 10 drives. It which it averaged 2.9 yards per play.

Ridiculously tough start to the season and the Broncos go 4-2 and have not been playing their best ball by any means while being down key players. pic.twitter.com/znTKukvUO1
Broncos defensive front playing so well the back end being injured doesn’t even matter.

Someone hire a hypnotist to convince Bo his injury never happened. Dude is all the way in his own head.

Broncos 2.9 yards per play on offense and 3/14 on third down (I think those 3 were on the first two drives of the game) …

they win 17–14. Gross
Vance Joseph MASTERCLASS

You never apologize for a win… but damn that was ugly

7 possessions in the 2nd half. 6 punts and a kneel down https://t.co/dx18s0j7nR

I love watching great defenses be great defenses but it genuinely bothers me how much Vance Joseph and his guys have to carry this team.

Ball clubs that win this way always make it look so difficult.
UGLY IS BEAUTIFUL

Denver is 4-2 and nobody can tell you how.

Massive win over one of the elite. 4-2 is great, but man this team is just not that fun to watch like it was last year.

Another ugly win, but it’s a win!! 4-2!!

Wil Lutz GOOD from 53 yards out.

Broncos survive, 17-14.
On a day when the offense did nothing after mid-2Q, Denver’s D harassed Sam Darnold from start to finish. 5 sacks and 17 hits of Darnold. 2 late INTs. DEN had just 168 yards of offense.
Somehow, Denver is 4-2.
The Broncos now have 10 days to rest, recover, repair and recuperate before facing the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 25.
