The NFL's in-season trade deadline (Nov. 3) is now exactly one week away, and after losing RJ Harvey to injured reserve, the Denver Broncos are expected to be in the market to add a running back.
Whether it's through free agency or via trade, Denver needs to add another running back for depth, if nothing else. If the Broncos decide to make a splash move (such as adding Jonathan Taylor
), J.K. Dobbins would become expendable.Jonah Coleman has quickly emerged as Denver's most productive running back, and he would be a great complement to a big-name running back if the Broncos go big at the position. Such a move would likely demote Dobbins to RB3, and it's hard to imagine the veteran being content with such a role.
So, Denver could look to trade
him, even for a late-round pick, if they add another running back before the deadline. If the Broncos make a splash at the position but aren't able to trade Dobbins, he could be a candidate to be released, giving him an opportunity to start fresh elsewhere as Denver moves forward with other options.
If the Broncos make a splash trade at running back, should they trade away J.K. Dobbins, even if it’s for a late-round pick?

All of this is merely speculation, though, as we don't know if the Broncos even plan to make a big move at the position. If they do, Dobbins will be a name to watch as a player who could be headed out.
