The Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers will each have a trio of former players facing off against their old clubs on Sunday.
The Niners have ex-Denver linebackers Dre Greenlaw and Garret Wallow on defense, plus punter Corliss Waitman on special teams. The Broncos also have three former 49ers players: right tackle Mike McGlinchey, defensive lineman D.J. Jones and safety Talanoa Hufanga.
All three ex-Niners have been key parts of Denver's turnaround under coach Sean Payton. D.J. Jones signed in 2022, one year before Payton arrived, but he was re-signed in 2025. McGlinchey was one of Payton's first free-agent signings in 2023, and Hufanga was one of the club's biggest signings in 2025.
Those three players were all drafted and developed by San
Francisco before later joining the Broncos as established veterans.
