The Colorado Buffaloes (2-3, 0-2 Big 12) return to Folsom Field on Saturday night, but they face another tough challenge as No. 11 Utah (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) visits Boulder.
Deion Sanders and the Buffs look to snap a three-game losing streak after a bye week that emphasized special teams and situational football. Colorado's last game was a frustrating 29-7 loss to Texas Tech, where the Buffs outgained the Red Raiders but were undone by four turnovers and more special-teams miscues.
The biggest question entering Saturday is whether Colorado's offense can finally find some consistency. Quarterback Isaac Wilson, who will once again start for the Buffaloes over Julian Lewis, showed promise early against Texas Tech before struggling in the second half.
Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion admitted he is in uncharted territory with his Go-Go offense struggling and producing very little through five games.
Defensively, Colorado has shown improvement under Chris Marve, but the unit will face its toughest test of the season against a Utah team coming off a 41-24 win over Kansas and the Big 12's top-scoring offense. The Utes have emerged as one of the Big 12's top contenders and perhaps the best team.
Can Colorado turn its season around and earn a signature win against a top 15 opponent? Another sloppy loss will only increase the noise surrounding the program.

Colorado vs. Utah predictions, betting odds
08:36 PM ET, October 17 2026, Charlie StrellaOdds via BetMGM
- Utah 38, Colorado 17: Colorado's defense has historically struggled to contain mobile quarterbacks and hasn't faced an elite one this year. The Utes deploy two. Look no further than last season's Utah game, when the Utes' quarterback, Byrd Fickin, rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown. If the improved Buffs defense can't slow down Dampier or Ficklin, both outstanding runners, it will be a long night in Boulder. Utah is a better, more efficient team, so can the Buffaloes stymie the Utes with a consistent ground attack and few mistakes? So far, we haven't seen that kind of play. Here are our detailed staff predictions for the matchup.
- Spread: Utah by 15.5
- Over/Under: 49.5
