The Colorado Buffaloes will face another quarterback early in their college careers when they visit Arizona State on Saturday.
Sun Devils coach Kenny Dillingham said at his weekly news conference Monday that true freshman Jake Fette will remain the starter. Fette made his first collegiate start in Saturday's 27-20 loss at No. 8 BYU
, completing 22 of 42 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.Colorado enters the matchup 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the Big 12 following a 27-24 overtime victory over Kansas State. Arizona State is 4-4 and 2-3 in conference play, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m. MT on ESPN2.
Fette responded after a difficult first half

Fette endured six first-half sacks against BYU before throwing both touchdown passes in the third quarter, helping Arizona
State erase a 17-3 halftime deficit. The Sun Devils tied the game before BYU pulled ahead in the fourth quarter.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback from Del Valle High School in El Paso, Texas, arrived as a consensus four-star recruit and Elite 11 finalist. He passed for 2,737 yards and 28 touchdowns as a high school senior while adding 1,105 rushing yards and 18 scores.
Colorado gets another test against a young quarterback
The Buffaloes forced three consecutive three-and-outs against Kansas State starter Dillon Duff before replacement Blake Barnett threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns.
Barnett's 62-yard touchdown drive in the final minute forced overtime, giving Colorado's defense another late lead to review despite finishing with five sacks.
Fette's response to pressure at BYU gives the Buffaloes a recent example of how Arizona State's freshman can recover after a slow start.
