It took a few years and a couple more months, but Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders is finally "in the game." EA Sports announced earlier this week that Coach Prime is now in College Football 27, the flagship college football video game that has exploded in popularity since it returned in 2025.
Sanders said at Big 12 Football Media Days in July that he was not paid enough to be in the game, so if that was the only reason, the two parties have worked it out.
Coach Prime is a noted marketing and business savant, rarely giving out his brand publicly without some compensation. He and EA Sports worked out a deal, and in the game's title update released Tuesday, they added Sanders. Before this week, Sanders was part of a group of six head coaches
not in the game, including Miami's Mario Cristobal, North Carolina's Bill Belichick, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Utah State's Bronco Mendenhall, Southern Miss' Blake Anderson and North Texas' Neal Brown.

Players can now play as Coach Prime in their dynasty saves after updating the game; he is currently a Level 32 coach with the talent developer archetype.
The new update also adds new mascots and several other gameplay fixes.
