The Colorado Buffaloes have suffered a blow to their 2027 recruiting class, with three-star linebacker Jahmiere Daniels-Portis decommitting on Tuesday afternoon. He announced the news on social media.
Daniels-Portis committed to Deion Sanders and Co. on June 24, picking them over the Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers, NC State Wolfpack, and Cincinnati Bearcats. The Springfield, Ohio, native officially visited all five programs over the summer before ultimately picking the Buffaloes.
He is ranked as the No. 944 overall player and No. 80 linebacker in the 247Sports composite. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder is also the No. 35 player from Ohio.
Daniels-Portis had a productive junior season at Springfield High School, recording 88 tackles, 14.5
tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, six forced fumbles, and two interceptions. His senior stats are not available.
He is Colorado's fifth decommitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle, leaving them with 20 commitments. They are down to two commitments at linebacker in Ba'Roc Willis and Kaylon Bailey, who are both three-star prospects. Colorado's 2027 recruiting class is now ranked as the 34th-best in the country and the 3rd-best in the Big 12 by 247Sports.
