The Colorado Buffaloes have suffered another decommitment in their 2027 recruiting class, with three-star wide receiver Ryan Ferdinand flipping to the Cincinnati Bearcats on Thursday. The West Palm Beach, Florida, native announced the news on social media.
Ferdinand committed to Deion Sanders and Colorado on June 26, picking them over the Bearcats, NC State Wolfpack, Pitt Panthers, and Tulane Green Wave. He officially visited all five programs before his original commitment, but the Bearcats never stopped recruiting him.
He is ranked as the No. 1498 overall player and No. 190 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 156 player from Florida.
Ferdinand has had a productive senior season at Palm Beach Lakes High School, helping
lead them to an 8-2 record. In nine games, he has caught 40 passes for 808 yards and 10 touchdowns. A dangerous returner, he is averaging 34.6 yards on punt returns, bringing one back for a touchdown.
He is Colorado's sixth decommitment in the 2027 cycle, as their struggles on the field have hurt them on the recruiting trail. They now have 19 commits, with four-star Jaiden Kelly-Murray being the only wide receiver. 247Sports ranks their class as the 37th best in the country and the 4th best in the Big 12.
