The Colorado Buffaloes revamped their entire roster this offseason, bringing in players who could fill starting roles and are hungry for a chance to prove themselves at the Power Four level. With that mindset coming from the entire team, the vibes have completely shifted inside the program.
Sophomore wide receiver Quentin Gibson spoke to the media yesterday and noted that he believes this year will be a lot different from a locker room perspective.
"I feel like it's going to be a lot different this year," Gibson said. "We're coming together as a family more. We are not all over the place, we are close together."
Last year, the most glaring issue with the Buffs was their lack of player leadership and accountability. It often felt like there were
11 guys on the field doing 11 solo jobs rather than working as a team.
Nearly every player who has spoken over the past two weeks has echoed a similar sentiment that the culture and vibes around the team are significantly improved from last year. Without a doubt, having the first week of fall camp in Colorado Springs was likely a major catalyst for how the Colorado program has come together.

Gibson is one of the few returning players and spoke on special teams day, making him a likely key contributor in that area. In 2025, he was the Buffaloes' primary kick returner with 25 kickoff returns for 597 yards for an average of 23.9 yards per return. He was second in the Big 12 in both kick return yards and average yards per return.
Entering the 2026 season, he projects as Colorado's primary kick returner and could even handle the punt return job. Offensively, Gibson is an intriguing piece that offensive coordinator Brennan Marion can use in a variety of ways. He is excited for all the possibilities.
"I'm going to show you all a lot more than last year. That was just a glimpse," Gibson said. "...The Go-Go offense is crazy."
