Roster cut-down day in the NFL was on Sunday evening. Each organization was required to trim its active roster down to 53 players after the conclusion of the preseason.
The Colorado Buffaloes usually do not have many NFL players, but that number has grown in recent years since Deion Sanders took over. Each team will sign a practice squad, with many of the players who were just cut returning to the team via it. Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are the headliners, but how many other former Buffs made an NFL roster or practice squad?
We'll only include players who finished their careers at Colorado, so no outgoing transfers who finished elsewhere will make the list. There's no way to get a complete list of daily transactions in the NFL, but after
roster cuts and the formation of practice squads, we are about as close as it gets.
For now, though, here are the former Colorado Buffaloes who are listed on the active rosters (or on injured reserve) for each NFL team, as of Monday afternoon, a day after Sunday's roster cut deadline.
Baltimore Ravens
- WR LaJohntay Wester
- CB Chidobe Awuzie
Carolina Panthers
- WR Jimmy Horn Jr.
The Panthers bring back Horn, whom they drafted last year. He should play a valuable role on special teams and as a gadget receiver.
Jacksonville Jaguars

Silmon-Craig was brought back to the Jaguars' practice squad Monday.
Los Angeles Rams

Landman returns to the Rams as their starting inside linebacker and seems to have that position locked in for the time being after signing a contract extension last year.
New Orleans Saints
- OT Will Sherman
Sherman survived roster cuts in New Orleans as a rotational offensive line piece.
Seattle Seahawks
- FB/TE Brady Russell
Russell became a key special teams player for the Seahawks last season and seems to have solidified his roster spot in Seattle.
Cleveland Browns
- QB Shedeur Sanders
Surprisingly, Shedeur Sanders made the Cleveland Browns roster as Deshaun Watson's backup. He will be ready to take over the starting job should his number be called.
