Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham offered a favorable assessment of Deion Sanders' Colorado program ahead of Saturday's matchup at Mountain America Stadium.
"This is a very, very good football team that is very, very dangerous," Dillingham said.
Colorado enters the game 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the Big 12 after beating Kansas State 27-24 in overtime. Arizona State is 4-4 and 2-3 in conference play following a 27-20 loss at No. 8 BYU. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. MST on ESPN2.
Kenny Dillingham faces a familiar offensive coordinator
Dillingham and Colorado offensive coordinator Brennan Marion worked together at Arizona State in 2015, adding a coaching connection to a matchup that has produced different results during Dillingham's tenure.
He is 1-1 against Colorado as Arizona State's head coach.
The Buffaloes won 27-24 in Tempe in 2023, when Alejandro Mata's late field goal delivered Deion Sanders' first Pac-12 victory. The Sun Devils answered with a 42-17 win in Boulder last season.
Colorado heads into the rematch after rushing for 222 yards against Kansas State. Richard Young supplied 120 yards and two touchdowns, helping ease the workload for quarterback Isaac Wilson.
Arizona State coming off quarterback change
Freshman Jake Fette made his first career start against BYU after replacing Cutter Boley as Arizona State's starter. Fette completed 22 of 42 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns without an interception in the seven-point loss.
Saturday allows Colorado to earn consecutive conference victories, while Arizona State returns home seeking its fifth win.
