The Colorado Buffaloes improved to 2-0 after defeating Weber State in Week 2, but analytics offer a different perspective on the team after two games.
ESPN's FPI dropped Colorado three spots despite the win, with CU now ranked No. 50 nationally and falling to No. 12 in the Big 12. Furthermore, the Buffs' chances of making a bowl game have decreased from 67% to 59.8%. Despite this, Colorado is still projected to finish 6.1-6.0, which would qualify them for a bowl game with the necessary six wins.
Colorado has a difficult stretch coming up with back-to-back road games against Northwestern and Baylor before a behemoth home matchup against a top-15 Texas Tech squad. FPI views Texas Tech as the best team in the conference (No. 26 overall) and Baylor as the seventh-best
team (No. 35 overall). Northwestern is in a similar tier as the Buffs, coming in at No. 57.
