After opening the 2026 season with a thrilling road win against Georgia Tech, Colorado (1-0) gets a prime opportunity to move to 2-0 with a Week 2 home matchup against the Weber State Wildcats (0-1). The early betting lines are significantly in favor of the Buffaloes.
Weber State will be Colorado's first and only Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponent of the season. The Wildcats suffered a heartbreaking loss to in-state rival Southern Utah, allowing 27 second-half points after holding a 29-20 halftime lead. The Thunderbirds ran all over the Wildcats, racking up 368 rushing yards in route to a 500-plus-yard offensive performance.
CU debuted a new-look offense in their season opener against Georgia Tech, one that emphasizes the running
game more than any other team in the Deion Sanders era. The Buffs ran for 183 yards for an average of 3.7 yards per carry. Three different players received 10-plus carries.
Considering the struggles Weber State showed defending the run in Week 1, expect a very similar offensive approach from Brennan Marion's offense against the Wildcats.
Here is a quick look at the early betting odds for this week's matchup.
