After an opening-game loss to Baylor and ahead of a three-game stretch against ranked opponents, Colorado must make a push if it still hopes to have a successful season.
Deion Sanders and two wide receivers spoke to the media Tuesday morning, with all three choosing to look forward to the three straight opportunities against ranked opponents. Notably, Sanders did not name a starting quarterback for this Saturday's matchup against Texas Tech after benching Julian Lewis for Isaac Wilson against Baylor.
Here are a few takeaways from Coach Prime's weekly press conference.
Coach Prime is undecided about who will start at quarterback vs. Texas Tech
Sanders, as expected, did not announce a starting quarterback for Saturday's game. However, his comment that he has spoken to Wilson but not Lewis leans toward Colorado going with
Wilson over Lewis.
"I haven't talked to JuJu [Julian Lewis]. I've talked to Isaac [Wilson], the kid is excited about the possibilities," Sanders said. "I'm proud of that young man."
"I don’t know. I know some people are running with the narrative that it’s already decided. We'll see how practice plays out this week."
Sanders later said he might have already made up his mind but doesn't want to disclose that information before he needs to.

LB Tyler Martinez could be out for the year
Martinez has led Colorado's defense and wears the "green dot" as the coach-to-player communicator. He left the game against Baylor injured and was seen in a walking boot after the game.
Coach Prime feels the team has enough linebacker depth to cover his absence, which could be season-long.
"God bless that we did a wonderful job in recruiting," Sanders said about replacing Martinez's on-field impact. "He may be out for the season. We don't know yet."
Sanders said if Martinez is out for the remainder of the season, he hopes the program can get a medical redshirt. He added that he has tremendous confidence in Gideon Lampron, Liona Lefau and even Gage Goldberg.

Deion Sanders is optimistic heading into Texas Tech matchup
Despite the back-to-back embarrassing losses, Sanders remains confident heading into the program's toughest matchup of the season against a top-10 Texas Tech team.
"Because contrary to what you guys may think, we have two coordinators who are really good," Sanders said. "We just gotta do something with the football and score it. Defense, we've got to stop breaking."
WR DeAndre Moore Jr. speaks to media, set to play Saturday
Moore, recently given the "L" patch on his jersey, showed his trademark leadership Tuesday, talking about coming out of the game vs. Baylor, how his WR room has grown, and what the offense as a whole has to do to score more points.
"We need to buy in. We need to strain a little harder," Moore said on the offense. "We are moving the ball, just have to put that thing in the end zone."
Moore isn't concerned about the sluggish offense and sees the opportunity against Texas Tech as the start of everything ahead.
"Everything we want for this season is still there for us to be at," Moore said.
