Former Colorado wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. is reuniting with a familiar face in Cleveland.
The Cleveland Browns are expected to sign Horn, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Horn will join former Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders after the two spent two seasons together in Boulder. Multiple reports indicate that Horn is signing with the Browns' practice squad.
Horn was waived by the Carolina Panthers, the team that drafted him, earlier this week following a muffed punt in their season opener against the Chicago Bears. The former Colorado star played 13 games as a rookie in 2025, catching 11 passes for 108 yards while also contributing as a runner and return specialist. Horn was the Panthers' sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
At Colorado, Horn became a key cog in the Sanders-led offense. Across two seasons with the Buffaloes, Horn totaled 95 receptions for 1,008 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging an explosive 10.6 yards per reception. He also contributed on special teams, recording 393 kickoff return yards during his time in Boulder.
The #Browns will play against the #Panthers in Week 3, so Jimmy Horn Jr. will see his old team soon.

My understanding is there were 3 other teams heavily interested in Horn Jr. https://t.co/zbNuWXYDap
The reunion comes at an interesting time, considering Sanders remains the Browns' backup quarterback entering Week 2. However, after Deshaun Watson's poor performance in Week 1, could Horn's addition indicate a potential quarterback switch for Week 3?
Horn could also get an early opportunity to face his former team, as Cleveland hosts Carolina in Week 3.
