Colorado wrapped up a fifth straight loss Saturday to Oklahoma State after giving up 37 unanswered points despite leading at halftime. A win is needed in the biggest possible way.
In USA TODAY Sports' 1-138 re-ranking
of every FBS program, the Buffaloes fell nine spots after dropping three last week to No. 95 nationally. Colorado is back to the lowest-ranked Big 12 team, as Kansas moved up 11 spots to No. 77.The drop shouldn't surprise anyone, as the Buffs continue to flounder and show no consistency. The schedule softens for the Buffaloes over the next two weeks, with a home game against a banged-up Kansas State team followed by a road game against Arizona State, which has struggled this season. With two winnable games on the horizon, Colorado
has a window to turn its season around and enter the final three games with a possible 4-5 record.
A few other Power Four programs surround Colorado, including Georgia Tech (No. 96), Stanford (No. 93), Michigan State (No. 97) and Cal (No. 90).
The Big 12 is well represented at the top of the rankings: Utah at No. 4 after moving up six spots this week, BYU at No. 6, Arizona at No. 15 and Houston at No. 20.
The top spots remained, with Ohio State at No. 1 and Miami at No. 2, while Georgia moved up to No. 3. Utah and Indiana rounded out the top 5.
