In another twist in Mark Gronowski's NFL journey, the Miami Dolphins released the former Iowa quarterback from their practice squad on Tuesday.

- May 11, 2026: Signs with Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent
- Aug. 7, 2026: Waived by Miami Dolphins
- Aug. 16, 2026: Re-Signs with Miami Dolphins on a one-year, $885,000 (non-guaranteed) contract
- Aug. 30, 2026: Waived by Miami Dolphins
- Aug. 31, 2026: Re-signs with Miami Dolphins' practice squad after clearing waivers
- Sept. 1, 2026: Released from Dolphins' practice squad
What comes next for the 6-foot-2, 226-pound quarterback is certainly a mystery, as he will now become a free agent and free to sign with any team's practice squad or 53-man roster. Wherever his next team may be, Growowski will certainly be a valuable signal-caller regardless of his spot on the depth chart.

Gronowski played 10 offensive snaps against the New York Giants in the Dolphins' second preseason contest, completing 2 of 5 passes for one yard and carrying the football twice for nine yards. Gronowski followed that performance by playing 31 offensive snaps against the Atlanta Falcons in Miami's preseason finale, completing 4 of 8 passes for 97 yards and running for 28 yards.
In his lone season at Iowa, Gronowski passed for 1,741 yards and 10 touchdowns and ran for an additional 545 yards and 16 scores. The Hawkeyes posted a 9-4 (6-3 Big Ten) record last season with Gronowski as their starting quarterback.
Additionally, the Dolphins signed former Hawkeyes EDGE Max Llewellyn to their practice squad after he was waived by the franchise on Aug. 31.

The 6-foot-5, 263-pound defensive lineman was selected by the Dolphins in the seventh round (No. 238 overall) in the 2026 NFL Draft after a successful four-year tenure at Iowa, where he recorded 64 career tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, 10 passes defended, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 43 career games (13 starts).
In his two preseason games with Miami, Llewellyn recorded two tackles (one solo, one assisted).
